Spotless (a Downer Company) has the contract with the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) for Facilities Maintenance and Management at four main bases: Linton Military Camp, RNZAF Base Ohakea, Burnham Military Camp and Waiouru Military Training Area, the National Army Museum, and several satellite sites where we deliver a suite of services to support Defence capability. Our Linton Military Camp is on the hunt for a Mechanical Technician.
The purpose of the Facilities – Mechanical Technician is to complete work which requires the application of relevant trade skills in a manner consistent with the high standards expected by our customers.

• Demonstrated experience in relevant trade area required.
• Experience in responding to and satisfying customer requests.
• Experience using hand or power equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Trade certification or licence in relevant field.
• Valid, unrestricted drivers licence.
• Current first aid certificate.
• Site Safe maintenance passport.

THESE TASKS WOULD INCLUDE:

• Responsible for all mechanical, regular maintenance & general engineering / repairs/ Fabrication of all mechanical infrastructure on the camp.
• Running & maintenance of the gas fired heating boilers and associated pipe work.
• Maintenance of multiple general heating boilers (condensing).
• Maintenance of pumps.
• Maintenance & repair of domestic hot water calorifiers & all associated circulation pumps.
• Problem solving & installation of new equipment on camp.
