The Opportunity
Reporting into our Supervisor- LV & Ancillary we are seeking a motivated Light Vehicle Mechanic to support our Telfer site with both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Light Vehicles and equipment.
In this role you will have the opportunity to work with the current Light Vehicle team in proactively supporting all Maintenance strategies with a particular focus on Safety.
Roster: Full Time FIFO from Perth 8 days on, 6 days off flying on Fridays.
Site: Telfer Operations- Gold and Copper Mine located in the Great Sandy Desert in WA.
Key role accountabilities:
- Providing technical support in all aspects of Light Vehicles and Ancillary equipment e.g Toyota and Isuzu trucks, bobcats, forklifts, and cranes
- Monitoring and reporting on status of equipment in line with Telfer and Newmont safety requirements
- Identifying and reporting of any potential equipment failures
- Proactive improvement of maintenance strategies in adherence to company policies, procedures, and values
- Develop and maintain communication with other departments and key stakeholders on site at Telfer
About You
To be successful in this role you will be an individual who has a proactive approach to problem solving and are able to perform all tasks in a professional and diligent manner. In addition, you will also ideally have:
- Australian recognised Trade Certificate as Light Vehicle Mechanic or Automotive Engineering
- Toyota and Isuzu experience essential
- Well Versed with Electronic diagnostic tools i.e. “G” Scan” and Toyota TEC Stream”
- On Highway Truck Experience an Advantage
- Mining FIFO experience and exposure to maintenance systems I.e. S.A.P an advantage
