  UGM is now currently accepting applications from suitably skilled Mechanical Tradespersons. These roles are on a 4/3 Roster based out of our Paget Workshop, and is ideal for a Light Vehicle or Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Tradesperson wanting to transition into the mining industry and gain some new skills on Underground Diesel Mining Equipment.

  This is the perfect opportunity for a Diesel/Plant Mechanical Tradesperson that is currently doing FIFO or DIDO to the local mine sites and are wanting to take a step back from shift work and be home every night, whilst still working on Heavy Machinery for a Mining Company.
  Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the Mechanical Tradeperson role is responsible for the repair and maintenance of our underground heavy machinery, mobile plant and equipment to achieve maximum equipment availability and productive lifecycle through preventative maintenance and quality repairs.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE:

• Mechanical Trade Qualification as a Heavy Vehicle OR Light Vehicle
• Minimum 12 months’ post trade experience.
• Previous experience with repairing underground mobile plantOR previous experience with repairing opencut mining mobile plant (Desirable)
• Explosion Protected Diesel Engine Systems Maintenance (DES) Certificate (Highly Advantageous)
• Current Drivers Licence.
• Positive, proactive approach to safety;
• Commitment to working as part of a team;
• Strong work ethic and a commitment to customer service;

THE ROLE:

• Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance to a variety of Underground Mobile Plant including Loaders, and Underground Haulage Equipment
• Have strong fault finding capabilities and diagnostic skills.
