Hawthorne Inn of Lakeland is now hiring for 2nd and 3rd SHIFTS, Med-tech and Resident Aides that are committed to providing the best life and care for our residents. The basic role of the RA and Med Tech is to assist with resident’s activities of daily living in accordance with the established procedures and as directed by the Director of Wellness. We are located at 6150 Lakeland Highlands Rd, Lakeland, FL 33813.
We are a 24/7 facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Weekends will be required if part-time or full-time
• Med-Tech certification preferred (must provide at time of interview to be hired as a med tech)
• CPR certified (must provide at time of interview)
• Valid Florida id or driver license (must provide at time of interview)
• Social Security Card or valid work permit (must provide at time of interview)

EXPERIENCE:

• At least 1 year of experience/ability as a Resident Aide and/or Med Tech and the ability to deal tactfully with coworkers, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, government agencies, and the general public.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have at least 1 year experience working as a RA or Med Tech in an ALF or SNF
• Clear a Level 2 AHCA Background check
• Must have a valid picture id and social security card
• Must meet mandatory in-service hours by attending in-services provided by the facility
• Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language
• Must be able to always work as a team member
• Maintaining confidentiality of all residents & facility data
• Must be caring, kind and patient with a positive attitude
• Must have basic typing/computer skills
• Must be level headed, able to use sound judgement with emergent and non-emergent situations

Duties Include but are not limited to:

• Observing Residents
• Engaging with all residents in conversations and activities daily
• Reporting any health issues to the Director of Wellness and Administrator
• Giving and receiving report at the beginning and end of each shift
• Taking care of a resident’s personal hygiene
• Setting up of meal trays and serving meals
• Assisting residents & serving nutritional supplements
• Making beds & keeping the residents’ space clean and tidy
• Ensuring residents laundry is done for each individual resident
• Transporting residents within the Facility
• Medication Management (only with an active certification, must provide at time of interview)
