Description:

The Medical Advisor is instrumental in providing strategic medical advice and ensuring its implementation in the assigned therapy area. The job holder will be expected to know and develop close contact with Thought Leaders (TLs) within the defined disease areas and actively contribute to developing short-term medical and marketing programmes for the Country Brand Operating Plan.
The role also includes the provision of non-promotional, high-level scientific, medical and educational support to Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and other stakeholders to make clinical decisions in the treatment of their patients and allowing he/she to gain practical insights into the treatment and management practices of patients.
The medical advisor will help IPSEN position itself as the partner of choice for HCPs and other stakeholders.

DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN KNOWLEDGE

  • Develop and maintain a medical information deck on the importance of Ipsen’s products and therapy areas for external HCPs/TLs and internal stakeholders.
  • Effectively contribute to various external HCPs/TL engagements (e.g., Round-Table Meetings and/or Advisory Panels) to stimulate scientific exchange between physicians by managing evolving evidence in relevant therapy areas.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Medical/Pharmacy/PhD degree, with a minimum of 3 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry (specialization in oncology/speciality care preferred) in a medical role.
  • Strong existing network of KOLs in the assigned territory (especially medical oncologists)
  • Knowledge of and current training in international/local studies and GxP (GCP, GPvP, GMP, GDP and other applicable Instruments and regulations governing clinical research, medical information and scientific communication.
  • An understanding of the drug development process and a good knowledge of the therapeutic area (understanding and experience of RCC/HCC and NET TA is an advantage)
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully working with a cross-functional team of people (a mix of experience, skill sets and roles)
  • Able to elicit the knowledge gap in the audience and customize the presentation to communicate the appropriate scientific data
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Provide constructive advice and feedback on strategies and actions to bring better outcomes to patients
  • Knowledge of relevant Code of Practice
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and influencing skills
