Join our expanding team at AstraZeneca as a Medical Advisor in our Immunology team within the Biopharmaceuticals Business Unit. This field-based role, located in Sweden, offers the unique opportunity to develop and implement our medical-scientific strategy specifically for Immunology. The successful candidate will join a dedicated medical team, reporting to the Therapeutic Area Lead Sweden.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Advanced scientific degree, preferably PhD, in life sciences or a related area
- Experience in field-based Medical Affairs, minimum 2-3 years, specifically in-clinic education
- A pro-active approach, a can-do attitude and motivation driven by engaging external partners (e.g., HCPs)
- Knowledge of the Swedish Healthcare System
- Excellent presentation and communications skills, both in Swedish and English
- Ability to travel (within Sweden on a frequent basis and occasional international travel to congresses and internal meetings)
- Driver’s license required
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Additional skills or experience in the field would be beneficial.
Responsibilities:
As a Medical Advisor for Immunology, you will be responsible for implementing medical activity plans for AstraZeneca’s marketed products and for compounds in development. You will translate scientific knowledge into strategies and tactics that support business success and demonstrate valuable insights from the external environment to enhance decision making. You will develop long-term professional relationships and gain insights from Health Care Professionals (HCPs) and decision makers. You will drive proactive and reactive interactions through collecting and sharing medical and scientific knowledge across the portfolio while assuring that quality is in accordance with written procedures, current legal requirements, and internal standards. You will also engage in in-depth medical and scientific product and disease area discussions, and presentations in a non-promotional scientific context. Here, you act as a scientific expert in your priority disease area.
