If you said yes, you’re just what we need in a Medical Assistant.WHAT YOU WILL DO - Provide direct patient care, which may include rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining a comprehensive medical history, administering vaccines, injections, and medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing and medication reconciliation. - Provide customer service to internal and external customers via phone, electronic, and in person. - May perform patient registration duties. - Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills. - Enter patient information into an electronic medical records system and use systems to produce and conduct referrals, prior authorizations, medication research, and other related duties. WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED - Prior Medical Assisting experience preferred. - Maintain composure even in very difficult situations. - Knowledge of hematology/blood collection technology, techniques, and procedures. - Customer service skills. Knowledge of terminology used in diagnosis and classification of illnesses, injuries, and disabilities.Follow directions as communicated in a variety of ways.Show sincere interest in others and their concerns.Understanding of patient handling techniques.Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, generic and trade names, and ICD coding.Develop effective relationships with patients, hospital departments, and other external parties.Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
