Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individuals to join the Medical Education Team at NHFT.
The role of Medical Education Co-ordinator will provide administrative support and the coordination of all educational and training opportunities for Undergraduate Medical Students, Physician Associate Students and Junior Doctors who rotate through the Trust.
With a strong background in medical administration, the post holder will be working in an integrated skill mix team that currently includes the Trusts’ Academic Leads for both Integrated Care and Mental Health, Director of Medical Education, Clinical Supervisors, Clinical Tutors, Consultants and other grades of Medical Staff, Allied health professionals and qualified nurses. The postholder will work closely with various teams to facilitate and ensure the intended learning outcomes for all undergraduate medical students in training placements are met, as well as providing administrative support to the Medical Education Manager.
The role offers a flexible home and office based working pattern with some travel between hospital sites required. There is also a requirement for travel to both LPT and Leicester Medical School occasionally, therefore a full UK driving license & own transport is desirable.
To be responsible for planning and organising medical student placements, to include notifying consultants, teams and the allocation of all student accommodation requirements.
Assist in maintaining the Medical Student database to ensure an accurate record of medical student allocations placements as required by Leicester Medical School
Organising consultants to cover topics as required by the Medical Schools’ curriculum and the Trust and ensuring accurate records of attendance are kept, monitored, and reported to the medical school in a timely manner.
Support all medical students to ensure they meet the training outcomes prescribed by Leicester Medical School
Responsible for monitoring student attendance and progress. Following up those who are at risk of falling behind the required objectives and referring to the Medical Education Manager and Associate Director of Medical Education where necessary
