Location: UCHealth Leprino Building Anschutz Campus, US:CO:Aurora
Department: Lab Clinical Main
FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Evenings
Pay: $31.61 - $47.41 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant’s relevant experience
SUMMARY:
Performs laboratory testing of patient specimens in one or more sections of the laboratory.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s degree and graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist program.Required Licensure/Certification: Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or categorical ASCP certification in a laboratory specialty/sub-specialty as applicable to job responsibilities. State licensure if required by law. Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Relevant life support certification as determined at position level.Minimum Experience: None Required.
- Preferred Experience: 1 year of flow cytometry, hematology, molecular experience: clinical or research is highly desired, but not required. Experience performing lymph subsets, stem cell enumeration and immunophenotyping for leukemias and lymphomas is preferred. Experience with the following cytometers and software is highly desired: Beckman Coulter Navios and Denovo software (FCS Express).

Responsibilities:
Performs diagnostic/analytic testing of specimens. Interprets, documents and reports test results.
Performs quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
Complies with good laboratory practice and regulatory requirements.
Performs projects as assigned as well as serves as a resource to laboratory staff and other clinical staff as needed.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
