ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking dedicated and collaborative individual for the following role of Pre-Analytical 2IC- Medical Laboratory Scientist. The position is based at Nepean Hospital - Pathology. Successful applicants must be available for a 24/7 shift roster, including weekends and public holidays. As the second-in-charge, you’ll support the Pre-Analytical Manager in overseeing daily operations of Central Specimen Reception and Pathology Collection Service at Nepean Hospital. Duties include supervising staff, organizing activities to meet goals, handling customer inquiries, and ensuring high satisfaction levels. You’ll assist in decision-making, strategic planning, and applying operational decisions. Facilitating training, monitoring performance, and addressing challenges will be crucial. Administrative duties like scheduling, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with policies are also key, while promoting a safe, collaborative workplace through effective communication and adherence to health regulations.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for delivering a range of operational laboratory activities including the coordination and provisions of scientific and technical training and the ongoing review, development and quality management of laboratory practices to ensure compliance with operational standards and procedures, quality standards and continual process improvement.
