ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • NZ registered and licenced Medical Laboratory Scientist with current APC
  • Full NZ drivers’ licence
  • Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team member
  • Have an eye for detail
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be flexible and able to work under pressure
  • Be an innovative thinker with the ability to problem solve
    Prior experience in a Medical Laboratory and Quality Management systems will be an advantage

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Health New Zealand, Te Tai Tokerau in the role of Medical Laboratory Scientist – Quality Compliance, reporting to the Pathology Quality Manager. This is a permanent, full time position (1.0FTE) working 40 hours per week.
You will assist in driving continuous improvement and performance in the Quality, Health & Safety of Te Tai Tokerau’s Pathology Service. You will assist facilitating the monitoring and record keeping for compliance with accreditation and statutory authorities and advocating best practice.
We are looking for someone who can make a positive Quality and H&S impact and are willing to provide support and training to increase your knowledge in these areas.

The primary function of this role is to:

  • Provide a quality and safe pathology service that ensures timely, accurate results to laboratory users
  • Advocate best practice and quality of Health New Zealand, Te Tai Tokerau Pathology Services ensuring compliance with accreditation and statutory authorities
  • Participate in pathology Quality, Health and Safety process improvements within the Pathology Service.

This is an office based role; however there will be opportunities to work alongside staff in the lab in an advisory capacity. As there are 4 laboratories within Te Tai Tokerau, you may be expected to occasionally travel between the 4 laboratories.
