Description:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Preferably Bachelor’s Degree and above in Laboratory Medicine, Clinical Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or any other equivalent qualification.
  • At least 2 years’ experience as Medical Laboratory Technologist in Biochemistry and / or Haematology in a clinical laboratory. Preference will be given to those with POCT experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the smooth and efficient operations of the POCT devices in the hospital
  • Assists to monitor the POCT centralised data managers and connectivity between POCT devices and the Lab Information System (LIS), and ensures that all POCT data is successfully and accurately transmitted to the Lab Information System (LIS), and to Hospital’s Electronic Medical Record System (EMR)
  • Liaises with relevant staff (internal and external) to resolve any issues pertaining to POCT.
  • Assists in training key operators on device and workflow competency pertaining to POCT tests.
  • Assists in new POCT sites setup together with relevant parties (vendors & users)
  • Assists in planning build for both interfaced and non-interfaced devices.
  • Maintains quality assurance and quality programs in the Lab:
  • Assists to monitor and track POCT Quality Indicators (QI).
  • Assists to conduct regular internal quality audit of all POCT sites to ensure compliance to main laboratory standards.
  • Assists to perform device evaluation and basic setup prior to passing devices to the sites.
  • Assists to ensure that the training and competency of all personnel performing the POC tests meet standard requirements according to main laboratory standards.
  • Supports the department in operational and administrative matters.
  • Assists in the management of document control such as Work Instructions and other documents and ensures that they conform to the expected requirements.
