Our clinics in Cairns are currently seeking a Medical Receptionist to join the team on a casual basis, working at our sites in Cairns and Mount Sheridan, between the core hours of 7:45am-6pm

Role Overview: As a Casual Medical Receptionist, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Patient Interaction:
  • Greet patients and callers professionally and courteously.
  • Assist patients with appointment scheduling over the phone
  • Explain intake forms to new patients.
  • Administrative Tasks:
  • Manage medical records confidentially and efficiently.
  • Process patient payments (cash, Eftpos, direct billing).
  • Handle internal emails and inquiries.
  • Maintain a tidy reception waiting area.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Communicate with referring doctors and clinical staff courteously.
  • Confidentiality:
  • Maintain patient personal and financial information confidentiality.
  • Availability:
  • Must be available on Friday
  • Fill in the roster when staff are on annual or sick leave.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Radiology experience preferred but not essential
