Description:

We are looking for a Medical Administrator to join our team in the Healthcare industry, based in Berkley, California. This role offers contract employment opportunity that is open ended and involves managing various administrative tasks within a medical setting. The role requires exceptional customer service skills, meticulous organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and EPIC.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and guests, ensuring a detail oriented, friendly, and hospitable environment • Manage patient check-in/out process, verify patient demographics, update insurances as necessary, and collect copayments • Answer, screen, and route incoming telephone calls professionally • Respond to routine inquiries and forward complex inquiries to appropriate personnel • Schedule follow-up appointments and audit scheduled appointments for accuracy • Verify commercial insurance eligibility and benefits for patients • Process authorizations for HMO and Medicare office visits • Maintain the waiting area, ensuring it is neat and well-stocked with reading materials and water cups • Perform a variety of clerical and reception duties as required • Exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a high-volume, high-stress environment

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical administration role within the healthcare industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong customer service skills, with a focus on patient satisfaction and relationship building
  • Capacity to handle multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to continue learning and improving administrative skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, higher education or certifications in related field preferred.
