JOB TITLE: Practice Receptionist REPORTS TO: Practice Manager HOURS: Full time 10:00am to 6:30pm SALARY: Competitive, dependent on experience Job Summary: Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. Job Responsibilities: Administration To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures. To work in accordance with written protocols Record messages and information accurately and pass them on to the appropriate person in a timely manner Keep up to date with changes in procedure and information affecting reception work Ensure patients letters and investigations are processed and filed accurately in patient records Fax, photocopy and scan documents as requested Process GP Links Reception Receiving patients consulting with members of Practice team Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patients and checking names and address.
Deal with requests for home visits or emergency appointments in accordance with Practice Guidelines Book transport for patients and ambulance services Be able to cover all reception position as necessary Appointments Process appointment requests via telephone or in person Computer Registrations of new patients computer data entry and medical records maintenance. Process patients change of address, telephone numbers Process repeat prescription request in accordance with Practice Guidelines. Telephone Have working knowledge of telephone system, during and after opening hours. Provide a professional first line response to all callers Other Tasks Call/Recall of patients on Chronic disease register Call/recall of patients (Flu Campaign) Ensure building security have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm.
Typing letters as required Any other tasks allocated by managers Confidentiality: In the course of seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters.
