Medical Scientist Grade 1-Microbiology

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Hold a Bachelor of Applied Science or Bachelor of Science or equivalent, where equivalent includes a degree awarded by an overseas tertiary instituion which is recognised by the Federal Department of Education and Training
• Qualify for professional scientist membership of Australian Institute of Medical Scientists or the Australian Society for Microbiology
• Major in Microbiology is desirable
• Experience in a clinical microbiology laboratory is advantageous and in particular in paediatric and or obstetrics/gynecology

• Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain
• Valid Working with Children Check
• Compliance with RCHs “Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases” procedure

This is a full time position (leave replacement) at 1.0FTE (9 day fortnight) within the Bacteriology Laboratory until 08.11.24 The Bacteriology Laboratory currently operates 0700-2400 seven days a week You are responsisble for performing routine diagnostic microbiological testing. Duties will include rotating roster covering all shifts including public holidays and on call
