POSITION SUMMARY:

Full-time, part-time, PRN and/or contract non-exempt position(s) available. Experienced Medical Transcriptionist needed to timely and accurately transcribe dictation by Pathologists into the LIS in the appropriate format; ensure required elements are included in the reports to comply with ICD-10 coding and support complete documentation of services provided, edit reports as necessary (under the direction of the Pathologist) and return the reports to the appropriate Pathologist in electronic format; transcribe physician correspondence including letters, consults, memos and other miscellaneous notes as needed.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required. Clerical or transcription experience (preferably in Pathology) is a must.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to accept and adapt to changes in work schedule; Must possess above average spelling aptitude and typing skills and be proficient in medical terminology; must possess good analytical and problem solving skills; must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and must be able to work well with others; must be professional in appearance, voice and behavior; must be strongly customer service oriented; must demonstrate a high standard of confidentiality; must be flexible, dependable and committed to excellent patient care.
