Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join our Medication Safety Team. In this role you will collaborate with a diverse range of professionals, including Specialist Pharmacists, Senior Pharmacy Staff, Medicines Safety Officers, Patient Safety Specialists, Nurses, and Clinicians.
As the Medicines Safety Governance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safe and effective medication practices within our organization. You will play a key role in the Medication Safety team in delivering the technical aspects of the Medicines Safety agenda across the Trust. There is also a clinical element to the role, providing patient care at ward level. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on patient care and safety.
You will need to have a strong interest in Medicines Governance and Safety and substantial experience in pharmacy practice. You should have an understanding of regulatory compliance, governance and medication safety. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration with various healthcare professionals and stakeholders. The ability to work as a team player is crucial.
Visits & informal discussions are welcome for further understanding of the role and department.
About our Pharmacy Service
To support with and / or deliver the technical aspects of the Medication Safety agenda, under the management of the Medication Safety Officer (MSO).
To assist the Controlled Drugs Accountable Officer (CDAO) in the safe management of controlled drugs ensuring compliance with licenses and legislation.
To provide a comprehensive clinical technician service at ward and departmental level.
To support pharmacy teams in driving continuous quality improvement, focusing on excellence in our services.
To lead on the auditing and follow up for Controlled Drugs and Safe and Secure Storage of Medicines, ensuring meticulous attention to detail.
To review medication incidents and support the pharmacy team with investigations, particularly in relation to drug losses of high risk and controlled drugs.
