Our Headquarters office is seeking a Member Services Associate to coordinate services with our clients, community partners, and healthcare providers. If you are a caring, dedicated professional who possesses strong communication skills and a true desire to help others, this is the position for you!
In this role, you will interact with our members, treatment facilities, referral sources, BLP counselors and clinicians, and members of the local healthcare community. You will be a resource for members and community partners by answering questions and addressing needs on a case-by-case basis. You will ensure that the daily operations of the program are running smoothly through scheduling, coordination, and troubleshooting. Your important work will allow members to receive quality care in their communities in order to make a better life within reach.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MEMBER SERVICE ASSOCIATE:

  • General technical understanding and computer capability with troubleshooting abilities
  • Experience working in a cell-center environment with multiple tasks assigned.
  • Experience with phone-based etiquette in a customer service role.
  • Experience using Google Drive and all programs therein, including but not limited to Docs, Sheets, Calendar, and Mail.
  • Willingness and eagerness to learn, be flexible and acclimate as the company expands.
  • Excellent time management, strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
  • The ability to efficiently communicate in a decentralized team environment and work both in team settings and independently.
  • The desire to work as a team player with a positive attitude in an ever-evolving workplace as part of a start-up that was created to save lives.

WORK-FROM-HOME REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have internet service with minimum upload/download ability.
  • The company will provide equipment (laptop, monitor) plus a remote work stipend.
  • Must have a quiet space to speak to members with minimal background noise.
  • Must understand the importance of protected health information and ensure any data/information is not visible to others.

THIS IS A FULL-TIME, NON-EXEMPT (HOURLY) POSITION. THE STARTING RANGE FOR THIS POSITION IS $21.15 - $24.04 PER HOUR + EQUITY + BENEFITS. THE FINAL COMPENSATION PACKAGE IS INFLUENCED BY VARIOUS FACTORS SUCH AS EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, DEGREES EARNED, MARKET DATA, AND BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrating and communicating the core values of Better Life Partners; Love, Act, Partner, Advocate, and Grow.
  • Answering phone calls, text messages, and emails, as well as addressing work tickets, throughout the day as they arrive in a timely manner.
  • Working as the go-between for Members and our Medical Providers and Counselors to schedule same-day appointments where availability exists between both parties.
  • Rescheduling members for makeup meetings and coordinating with our Medical Management team to ensure no disruption of service.
  • Coordinating meetings over Zoom between our Members and Medical Providers or Counselors.
  • Working with our other teams on individual issues that may arise with our members.
  • Reviewing and updating member and care provider requests within our proprietary EMR system.
  • Handling records requests and releases of information while ensuring the confidentiality of our Members and within the regulations of 42 CFR Part 2 and HIPAA.
  • Using judgment and discretion to effectively handle any additional Member services, and efficiently manage Provider or Counselor caseloads.
