Description:

About Us
The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) is a justice service that resolves a wide range of disputes for the Victorian community, including renting, planning, and consumer disputes. VCAT is committed to delivering an accessible service for all Victorians and is transforming our digital products and services to make it faster, easier, and more convenient for people to come to the tribunal.
About the Role
In late 2023 the VCAT Backlog Recovery Program was expanded with the aim of eliminating approximately 21,000 backlogged Residential Tenancy cases. In six months, the Backlog has reduced to 8,000. It has resulted in users having their matters resolved at the earliest opportunity. The success of the Program has resulted in backlogs from other VCAT jurisdictions being added, with the anticipation of similar positive outcomes.
Reporting to the Deputy Registrar, but working closely with the Senior Specialist Registrar and VCAT Heads of Lists, the Member & Listing Coordinator will have oversight of the daily listing and management of backlog cases in the Residential Tenancies and Civil Claims List. The Coordinator will manage the rostering of a dedicated pool of Members, to ensure cases are resolved optimally.
In collaboration with the leaders of the Program, the Coordinator will be required monitor and report on listing patterns and forecast trends, and take corrective action when required. The Coordinator will also be the central contact point for Members and staff, and will help troubleshoot day-to-day hearing issues that might arise.
