Our client is a dedicated care provider that specialises in supporting individuals with Mental Health conditions, Learning Disabilities, Challenging Behaviour, and other complex needs. They are actively seeking empathetic and dedicated individuals to join their team as Mental Health Support Workers in Hampshire.
As a Mental Health Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing compassionate and person-centered support to individuals with various mental health conditions, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
- Utilising your knowledge and skills in mental health care to support individuals in managing their symptoms and promoting recovery-oriented practices.
- Implementing individualised care plans tailored to the specific needs and preferences of each service user, while fostering a supportive and therapeutic environment.
- Demonstrating sensitivity and understanding when addressing challenging behaviors and crisis situations, utilising de-escalation techniques and therapeutic communication.
- Assisting individuals with activities of daily living, medication management, and participation in therapeutic activities and community integration initiatives.
- Advocating for the rights and preferences of individuals with mental health conditions while promoting empowerment, self-determination, and recovery-oriented principles.
Applicants for this rewarding role should possess:
- Minimum 12 months of experience in Health & Social Care, focusing on mental health support.
- Comprehensive knowledge and skills related to mental health conditions, including assessment, intervention, and support strategies.
- Experience working with individuals at risk or in residential settings, preferably within mental health services.
- Exceptional empathy, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trusting and therapeutic relationships.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication and basic IT skills.
- Ideally, completion of relevant training such as Team Teach, PMVA, or SCIP
Hours - 12hr Shifts (Days & Nights available)
Rate - £12.50 per hour (DOE)
