The Magistrates Early Referral into Treatment (MERIT) program is a voluntary, pre-plea program for adults in the Local Court who have issues related to their alcohol and drug use. MERIT provides access to a wide range of alcohol and drug treatment services for 12 weeks while court matters are adjourned.
MERIT aims to improve the health and well-being and reduce offending for adults who have issues related to their alcohol and drug use and are in contact with the criminal justice system. The MERIT Manager will be based in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District and will manage the MERIT Team, which operates in multiple locations across the district.
The MERIT Manager will work under the leadership of Manager Strategic Development Drug and Alcohol and Early Intervention Programs and will have the primary responsibility of ensuring a high quality MERIT program is delivered and evaluated within MLHD.
