REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have own vehicle to commute to Mitchell Island;
• Ability to clearly communicate in English (spoken and written);
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1-3 months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience;
• Must be able to regularly stand, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds;
• Must pass pre-employment drug & alcohol test and criminal background check;
• Must be willing to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (i.e. uniform, safety glasses, steel toed boots, hardhat, earplugs, and gloves);
• Safety conscious;
• Must be willing to work afternoon/evening shift;
• Manufacturing or production associate experience considered an asset;
• Forklift Certification (nice to have);

The Picker (Metal Sorter/General Labourer) is responsible for sorting through scrap metal or plastic according to grade and size by performing the following duties, as follows:

• Removal of metal/plastic from sorting table, hand-truck, or conveyor types of metal/plastic by sight on sorting table;
• Keeping work area clean;
• May be assigned to operate or repair simple mechanical equipment;
• Other duties or special projects as may be assigned.
