Description:
The Analytics Department is looking for a Methodologist to support the Department of Medicine with the analysis and interpretation of relevant clinical data from different data systems, the creation of key performance indicators, and the creation of reporting and data visualization solutions in various platforms. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Department of Medicine to support its quality mandate and the use of data and analytics to make positive change.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE):
- MSc in Statistics, Epidemiology, Health Sciences, Public Health, or related field
- Data management programming experience (e.g. SQL, SAS)
- Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g. SAS, R)
- Experience building dashboards and data visualizations using Excel, PowerBI, or similar tools.
- Experience analyzing healthcare or other large data.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Aptitude for research methodology and attention to detail
- Comfortable learning and using technology, including Office365 products.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous project management experience
- Previous healthcare analytical experience or experience working with electronic healthcare system data or healthcare coded data (e.g. ICD/CCI coding)
- Knowledge of analytic methods applied to health services research.
- Demonstrated initiative in the workplace.
Responsibilities:
- Handle incoming data requests: meeting with stakeholders, understanding requirements, querying data repositories, cleaning and transforming data, conducting exploratory and statistical analyses, and producing meaningful reports and visualizations.
- Support the design and develop of key performance indicators, meaningful reports, presentations, and data visualizations for the Department of Medicine
- Develop strong relationships with stakeholders and a deep understanding of the subject area and data nuances.
- Document work and create user support tools using standard practice guidelines.
- Take part in Analytics team initiatives to enhance our information & analytical knowledge base, standards of practice, and reporting solutions.
