Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) has openings for Metrology Tooling Mechanics in Berkeley, MO. The selected candidates will apply knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics to calibrate inspection, measurement and test equipment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 3+ years of experience in a calibration and/or testing laboratory
  • 1+ years of experience calibrating Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE)
  • 1+ year of experience calibrating torque wrenches and systems
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Experience using all the following Microsoft Office Applications: Work, Excel and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Associate’s Degree from a technical program/military and/or college
  • Prior PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) experience
  • Experience operating a laser tracker or CMM
  • Data entry experience and experience creating/managing calibration reports

Responsibilities:

  • Perform calibration and testing of precision measuring instruments according to established internal procedures as well as industry standards and specifications
  • Fabricate and modify calibration fixtures as needed to ensure accurate measurements
  • Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.
  • Measures parts for conformity with specifications using measuring standards
  • Analysis and interpretation of testing result data
  • Identifies out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective action
  • Repair of equipment as necessary
  • Competency with calibration software
  • Preparing calibration reports and certificates
  • Ensure traceability of each calibration through clear and precise documentation
  • Maintain calibration records and documentation in compliance with quality standards in calibration management data base
