WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a scientific administrator for our microbiology lab.
This role will be based out of our Science Lab in Downtown Toronto.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • Knowledge of laboratory operations
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to learn independently and apply previous experience to the current situation.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in science, life sciences, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and organize the Microbiology Laboratory inventory, including ordering media, reagents, cultures, consumables, etc.
  • Responsible for receiving, logging and storage of incoming samples.
  • Manage activities related to software such as Intelex, LIMS, etc.
  • Issue lab books for the laboratory staff as per internal procedures and ensures reconciliation through periodic inventory.
  • Generate purchase orders for services, supplies, receipt of materials and restocking.
  • Manage invoice approval with accounting department.
  • Organize the receipt of equipment and supplies, ensure the completion of associated chain of custody and inventory paperwork.
  • Prepare and ship departmental materials, samples, and documents.
  • Coordinate with QA and HR departments to assist in scheduling the training required for all microbiology lab personnel, including onboarding.
  • Support and maintain professional relationships with third parties, ensures excellent working relationship with vendors.
