Description:

Geologics has an immediate opening with one of our national aerospace and defense partners for a Sr. Microsoft 365 Applications Administrator.
An Interim Secret clearance or higher is required to be considered for this position. Due to the nature of work performed in this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
Position: Sr. Microsoft 365 Applications Administrator
Job Type: W-2, Contract
Location: USA - Remote
Pay: $45.00 - $58.00 per hour

REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Interim or Active DoD Secret Clearance (no exceptions, sorry!)
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of related experience OR 6 years with a master’s degree, to include experience with all of the following:
  • Administrating Microsoft 365 applications including: Exchange, OneDrive, and Teams
  • Advanced skill with PowerShell
  • Experience administering Azure AD, ADFS, Group Policy, and Okta
  • Windows Server Administration, Azure Server Administration
  • Automation tools including: PowerShell, PowerApps, PowerAutomate and PowerBI
  • Experience supporting critical application software (local, network installed and SaaS) to include medium to complex troubleshooting, research, ability to read and comprehend technical manuals, and maintain procedural documentation
  • Fully proficient knowledge on server architecture and understanding of virtualization technologies, storage systems, enterprise security practices, and replication technologies
  • Excellent ability to act highly independently on large and unique tasks and wide-ranging initiatives using a subject matter expertise of the Application or System Admin discipline
  • Fully proficient understanding of the Internet and its key configuration components (e.g. DNS, http, IP addressing, Subnetting), and different methods of file transfer (e.g., FTP, SFTP, FTPS, NDM)
  • Current application administrator or other related technical certification indicating a degree of appropriate foundational knowledge is preferred
  • Fully proficient understanding of SQL scripts and other scripting languages, and experience with batch automation and automation tools
  • Shows significant contribution within diverse teams across multiple projects or small initiatives to successfully achieve deliverables
  • Solid presentation skills
  • Fully proficient understanding of solutions development methodologies (e.g. DevOps, Agile, Software Development Lifecycle, etc.)
  • Lean-Agile mindset proficient in the understand and becoming familiar with the Lean-Agile mindset

Responsibilities:

  • Consults and collaborates with business leaders, end users, IT staff, vendors and other third parties and is involved in every phase of an application throughout its lifecycle
  • Job automation, running batch jobs, running SQL scripts, reviewing logs, system and application monitoring, maintenance, patch management, software upgrades, file transfers, backups, incident/problem troubleshooting and support
  • Provide operational support including application maintenance, application configuration and performance tuning, account management, installation of software upgrades, user support, and systems monitoring
  • Ensures that the application layer is optimally configured for seamless integration and operability with OS, database, middleware, network, Web services, and other interrelated technological components
  • Engages with the various teams to performs application health checks to ascertain application accessibility, server availability, capacity planning, monitor scheduled job, batch jobs, systems alerts, upstream/downstream feed status
  • Responds to incident tickets, user inquiries and services requests
  • Analyzes and triages defects/issues, plan and manage releases and migrations in different environments
  • Monitors system alerts, system utilization thresholds, capacity utilization on servers etc.
  • Mentors, consults and otherwise supports the adoption of the application including responding to inquiries from a variety of sources for the purpose of providing technical assistance, advice and support, training, and assisting in the proper, efficient and effective use of the application
  • Understands a broad range of customer’s requirements, expectations and operational imperatives for their mission success and translates those business drivers and needs into requirements and actions for continuous enrichment of the user’s experience
  • Monitors and enforces compliance of regulatory requirements like Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and corporate information security policies
  • This included ensuring appropriate documentation for system configuration, change control, access control, and system logs
  • Works with the application vendors to obtain in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of the vendor’s planned changes, existing problems and known errors, corrective action and work around alternatives, and technical support capabilities
  • Maintains current knowledge of vendor’s plans and strategic directions for the application including: patch releases, minor version releases, major version releases, end-of-life support, new capability enhancements, and upgrade support capabilities
  • Follows industry trends, evaluate vendor products, and pursue technology innovation to ensure business services are cost competitive and aligned to industry best practices
  • Leads, plans, and executes projects, small initiatives
  • Moderate business travel required
