Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), 777X Airplane Level Integration Team (ALIT), is seeking Mid-Level (Level 3) Certification System Engineers. This role offers a unique limited time opportunity to be involved in the development and certification processes for Part 25 commercial aircraft. Incumbents would have opportunities to gain exposure into certification processes for various product teams in systems, propulsion, structures, and test engineering. This role provides high visibility and developmental opportunities for motivated individuals who directly support the development of the 777-9 TIA and ATC project. The Certification System Engineers will utilize System Engineering Principles to accomplish FAA and EASA certification efforts for the 777-9 program.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate Development Engineering Applicant readiness activities in support of B777X program milestones.
  • Develop understanding of pending work statement, assess certification impact and support execution of mitigation plans in co-ordination with other IPT focals.
  • Prepare and present technical issues to leadership and regulators on assigned projects, as needed.
  • Drive IPT team task completions in support of program milestones through issue tracking and creating and maintenance of project files.
  • Collaborate with engineering stakeholders and project management specialists across different levels of the organization.

THIS POSITION MUST MEET EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS. TO MEET EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS, A “U.S. PERSON” AS DEFINED BY 22 C.F.R. §120.15 IS REQUIRED. “U.S. PERSON” INCLUDES U.S. CITIZEN, LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENT, REFUGEE, OR ASYLEE.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Experience working with 14 CFR Part 25 and EASA CS-25 aspects.
  • Experience leading through influence and partnering with cross functional teams on projects and initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Experience with FAA ATC projects or EASA projects as an applicant.
  • Familiarity with demonstrating compliance to FAA regulations in a specific engineering discipline.
  • Career growth goal in certification/airworthiness engineering over multiple years of program execution, training, and process development.
  • Desire to learn and grow into a certification expert, technical lead, DER, CVE, or ODA unit member as part of a career path.
  • Strong desire to execute aggressive schedules and proactively train and grow in the certification skill set.
    Typical Education & Experience:
    Mid-Level: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+2, Master+3 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
