Ardurra is seeking a Mid-Level Civil Project Engineer to join our staff in Houston, TX.

EDUCATION

Preferred

  • Bachelors or better in Engineering

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program. Advanced Degree desirable
  • 7+ years of civil experience required (Advanced degree may be substituted for the experience)
  • Professional Engineering License required
  • Must be able to collaborate with other employees, interact with clients and contractors
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail, with a demonstrated capability to meet project budget and deadline
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our culture is a must
  • Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issue

Responsibilities:

  • Applies broad knowledge and focused detailed knowledge of principles and practices in areas of assignments and related fields
  • Perform complex assignments while exercising judgement in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques
  • Uses advanced techniques in the modification or extension of theories and practices of sciences and disciplines to complete assignments
  • Independently evaluates, selects, and adapts standard techniques, procedures, and criteria
  • Works on a major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex features
  • Present specific aspects of engineering assignments at project/client/stakeholder meetings
  • Designs a complete project, system, component, or process to applicable standards
  • Prepares complete project documents for hydrologic studies and analysis, hydraulic design, water transmission/distribution; wastewater collection; storm water conveyance and quality evaluation, flood plain analysis, and federal and State regulations and permit compliance
  • Formulates and solves problems; analyzes and interprets data; develop conclusions and recommendations
  • Utilizes applicable software and tools in analysis and design of the project
  • Reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance
  • Implements and monitors project budgets and fee estimates
  • Acquires knowledge of and ability to apply new techniques and/or improved processes, materials, or products
  • Assigns tasks to and directs engineers, technicians, and administrative staff; plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the engineering work; prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments; assists with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs
  • Receives general direction on key objectives. Receives guidance when necessary on unconventional or complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria
