Responsibilities:
Due to continued growth, our West Coast Nuclear Services Group is seeking a Mid-Level Civil/Structural Engineer in our Fort Worth, TX office.
- Understand roles played by other disciplines on the project and possess the ability to coordinate and interface with other engineering disciplines
- Participate in reviewing and checking designs, drawings, and data prepared by other engineers or subcontractors
- Prepare design studies, project scopes and engineering estimates
- Manage budget, scope, schedule, and quality associated with the designated work assignment with minimal guidance and technical oversight
- Prepare electrical equipment procurement and installation specifications and can evaluate technical bids and select equipment
- Devise new approaches to technical problems
- Travel and participate in field installation, checkout, and start-up
- Direct and oversee routine and advanced technical work performed by others on assigned projects and maintain quality standards of all assigned projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum of 3 years of power system design experience in the Nuclear Industry
- Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of structural calculations is desired
- Knowledge of discipline-specific computer analysis codes as well as standard office production software
- Proficient in Word and Excel
- Familiar with the International Building code and building code design
- Good writing, presentation, and communication skills
- Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
- Familiar with concrete and steel design codes and with working stress and ultimate strength design approaches
- Uranium enrichment facility experience, or equivalent nuclear facility experience, is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with NRC regulatory requirements, particularly 10CFR70 is preferred.
- Ensures plant designs contain adequate safety features based on best nuclear industrial facility practices and lessons learned.
- The ability to lead and mentor an engineering team is highly desirable and preferred.
- Ability to periodically travel to New Mexico is required.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “L” security clearance. A current DOE clearance is preferred.
