Description:

We are looking for a remote Middle 2nd Line / Environments Support Engineer to offer technical and developer support to customers utilizing our Cloud Platform products, solutions, and APIs. The role requires a wide range of experience and technical know-how in networking, Linux, and GCP Networking. You will work hand in hand with a global 24x5 support organization to provide technical support to customers while adhering to notification and escalation procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of experience as a Networking Engineer or a combination of Networking and Sysadmin roles
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/UNIX and Windows Server
  • Familiarity with web and mail protocols (HTTP, TLS, SMTP, etc.)
  • Knowledge of GCP Networking
  • Experience with layer-2, layer-3, and/or layer-4 network protocols and technologies, TCP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, REST, SOAP, NFSv4.x, SMB
  • Experience with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VRRP, IP, HSRP, MPLS, BGP for dual ISP, etc. protocols) and setup load balancing
  • Familiarity with multi-tasking and multi-processing, with experience in shell scripting
  • Comprehensive understanding of network security practices and tools (firewall policies, rules, best practices, VPN, IPSEC, GETVPN)
  • Experience with VMs (Google Compute Engine, VMware, Amazon EC2, etc.)
  • Ability to set up monitoring, conduct performance audits, and optimize performance
  • Comprehensive understanding of administration (user accounts, permission models, access control)
  • Able to design, deploy, follow, explain, and enhance defined ITIL/ITSM processes in your team and linked teams
  • Experience troubleshooting with network troubleshooting tools (traceroute, iperf, tcproute) and identifying latency and performance issues
  • Familiarity with SQL
  • English proficiency of at least B2+ level

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to customers using Cloud Platform products, solutions, and APIs, including Google Compute Engine and related services
  • Give technical support and assistance as part of a global 24x5-support organization
  • Collaborate closely with Engineers and Product Managers to enhance the product and ensure customer success
  • Design, deploy, follow, explain, and enhance defined ITIL/ITSM processes in his team and linked teams
  • Handle change requests and incident tickets for the remaining Infrastructure Teams - Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management
  • Set up monitoring, conduct performance audit, and optimize performance
  • Provide tactical vision and thoroughly test work using test cases
  • Follow standards for business communications involving operational issues
