Job Summary:
As a Middle Office Analyst, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining our static data infrastructure in Murex, including curves, generators, portfolios, counterparties, and operating limits. You’ll also support the management and maintenance of collateral and credit union custody transactions
In this position, you’ll leverage your risk management and capital markets experience to identify and prevent fraudulent transactions. You’ll work closely with Treasury team members to investigate and resolve issues as they arise.
What you’ll be doing:

Process and Procedure Documentation:

  • Write and maintain standard operating procedures for all Middle Office processes.
  • Regularly update the documentation to keep it current.
  • Organize and manage the team’s Confluence page for easy reference.

Subject Matter Expertise in Murex and Bloomberg:

  • Understand the configuration of Murex at Central 1 and ensure accurate data maintenance.
  • Develop expertise in Murex and Bloomberg through self-study and issue history review.
  • Ensure accurate pricing data in Murex.

Static and Market Data Control:

  • Maintain and control static and market data (Curves, Security, Generators, Limits, Pricing, Yield).
  • Ensure new data requests comply with Central 1 policies.
  • Communicate non-compliant requests to risk management for approval.

Post-Trade Control:

  • Ensure accurate representation of trades and transactions within the system.
  • Verify transactions daily and conduct end-of-day reviews.
  • Analyze reports to ensure trade compliance and prevent fraud.

Internal Controls:

  • Perform compliance and control procedures regularly.
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of Treasury activities.
  • Apply limits from internal policies, review new products and counterparties, and verify daily transactions.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Provide daily investment concentration and monthly FX position reports.
  • Identify and analyze new or unusual trends in business activity.
  • Enhance and streamline risk reporting through automation.

Collateral Management:

  • Apply collateral agreements and ensure compliance with deadlines and requirements.
  • Handle collateral calls and resolve disputes promptly.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Manage credit union custody program and ensure accurate transaction entry.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager, Middle Office.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses and cover for team members when needed.

What you’ll have

  • An undergraduate degree in finance, economics, math, or another quantitative subject is required and/or a combination of education and experience/competence in quantitative analysis and other relevant business areas.
  • 3+ years of experience in a risk management role, in Murex and Bloomberg, focusing on daily treasury middle office operations or compliance and control functions. Experience designing and implementing middle office controls is an asset.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of key treasury markets and products, including fixed income, derivatives, futures, options, foreign exchange and securitization.
  • Possess a good working understanding of liquidity, market and traded credit risk concepts and measurement techniques.
  • Scrupulous attention to detail; demonstrably strong and accurate quantitative skills; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to express himself/herself clearly and logically, both verbally and in writing.
  • Unquestionable integrity and commitment to the execution of middle office controls and processes.
  • The curiosity to independently identify and investigate unusual trends in business activity and risk levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, both within the department and in other areas (front office, operations) and to positively resolve conflict.
  • The courage to question senior business unit staff and the courage to escalate issues to senior members of Risk and Treasury.
  • The flexibility to be responsive to the business needs of Central 1 and the credit union system, to adapt to the evolving needs of the department and to cope in a rapidly changing environment.

Salary Range: $74,700
The salary represents the job rate determined for the successful candidate who is fully competent in the role. The actual salary will vary depending on market conditions and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
