Description:

Overview:
As the Middle Office Manager, you will be responsible for evaluating, documenting, and ensuring compliance with crude, product, and freight deals. You will play a key role in executing prepayment and structured trade finance deals, managing accounts receivables/payables, and optimizing working capital limits. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will also oversee financial concurrence, contract review, and audit-related activities, ensuring adherence to risk management controls and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, document, and ensure compliance with crude, product, and freight deals, including adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Execute prepayment and structured trade finance deals, ensuring alignment with company objectives and risk management strategies.
  • Manage accounts receivables/payables and working capital limits, optimizing cash flow and liquidity management.
  • Handle secondary costs related to trading operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in cost allocation and reporting.
  • Review demurrage calculations provided by the operations desk, monitor timely payment, and minimize costs associated with delays.
  • Verify demurrage claims raised on suppliers’ import shipments, resolving discrepancies and ensuring fair and timely settlement.
  • Monitor and ensure sign-off/approvals of authorized signatories as per standard operating procedures (SOPs) and delegation of authority (DOA).
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with risk management controls, identifying and addressing any gaps or issues.
  • Provide financial concurrence and review of contracts, ensuring alignment with financial objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee accounting, reporting, audit, and control-related activities, maintaining transparency and accuracy in financial records and statements.
  • Prepare notes, workflows, and presentations as required by management, providing insights and analysis to support decision-making processes.

Educational Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Post-graduate degree with relevant experience (MBA in Finance or Chartered Accountant preferable).

Relevant (Functional/Level) & Total Years of Experience:

  • Relevant Experience: 4 years
  • Total Experience: 8 to 10 years
