Description:

This is a twelve month secondment or fixed term contract opportunity.
Are you an experienced Midwife with a passion for continuity and would love to join the midwifery-led service as a Team Leader? If you are dynamic, motivational, visible and have the drive and determination to support the national picture of maternity service transformation then this is the opportunity for you.
We are looking for a resilient individual who is able to manage complex situations as well as being well organised and innovative. You will be motivated to provide evidenced based care, with the aim of promoting a positive experience of maternity services and increasing births in the midwifery-led settings.
You will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team ensuring that there are good lines of communication between midwifery-led and complex midwifery services.
Working in partnership with the other lead midwives, the matron for midwifery-led services and the consultant midwife, the successful applicant will lead a team of skilled midwives and support staff to successfully deliver the Better Births vision of Continuity of carer for all women.
The Team leader has a key leadership and management role at a senior level and will provide specialist skills and knowledge to support the organisation and the delivery of care for women and their families throughout their pregnancy, birth and postnatal journey in accordance with the department philosophy and standards of care, ensuring that Trust values and behaviours are upheld.
The Team Leader has a fundamental role in monitoring and maintaining high standards of professional practice, ensuring an environment that is conducive to well-being and contributing to effective budgetary management.
Working as part of the senior midwifery team, the Team leader will contribute to the future development of the maternity service through participation of development initiatives.
Leading the service into the future will be a key requirement, working closely with the Consultant Midwife and Matron for midwifery-led services.
We have 10000 fantastic people working hard to deliver quality services to our patients. Whatever your role, you help look after 370,000 people in our local area & give specialist care to 1.5 million people across Lancashire & Cumbria.
Working with us gives you the knowledge and sense of pride that every activity you do genuinely does make a difference to support our patients & staff, ensuring we keep thriving & delivering outstanding healthcare right across our local towns.
You’ll have access to varied development opportunities, learn new skills, meet fab people & do things you’d never have done. You’ll learn about working in a hospital, interacting with people from all different roles to build skills & enhance your career path.
You’ll make an impact, be challenged to think differently, be bold & help innovate to keep improving things. Everything we do centres around patient care which means your role is pivotal and something really to be proud of.
