DESCRIPTION:

Description: Introduction to ergonomics in industrial settings. Biomechanics related to manual materials handling, repetitive strain injuries, visual and auditory limitations, human information processing and short term memory limitations, psychomotor skill, anthropometry and workspace layout, population stereotypes, design of controls and displays, circadian rhythms and design of shift work schedules. (MIE343 anti-requisite)

Sessional dates of appointment: September 2024 – December 2024
Salary: $13,000 (per half course inclusive of vacation pay) per section. Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum qualifications: Applicants should have a strong record of presenting lectures or acting as a teaching assistant. Applicants must be able to demonstrate considerable depth of knowledge and experience in the subject area. The applicant must have excellent communication skills in both oral and written.
Description of duties: Preparation of lectures and course materials; delivery of lectures; supervision of Teaching Assistants; setting and marking of projects, tests and exams; evaluation of final grades; contact with students.
