Sapiens UK (Cardiff) is seeking a Data Migration Analyst to join the team of Life & Pensions software delivery experts.
Working closely with the rest of the Migration and software delivery team, you will be responsible for understanding the business needs of the customer and assessing the impact of those needs to recommend efficient solutions that are in line with the overall Sapiens’s product functional design.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Essential:

  • Experience of Data Migration or ETL processes.
  • Business Analysis skills with the ability to translate functional requirements to mapping/transformation rules.
  • Strong soft skills – communication, comprehension, meeting management, presentation.
  • Strong analytical skills – ability to break the problem down in scenarios and come up with solutions.
  • Expert level knowledge and experience with information systems (such as ERP), in a product-based environment.
  • Understanding the data models and structures of complex technology systems
  • Experience working with SQL.
  • A bachelor’s degree in IT/Computing or a related subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to travel to various offices and client sites as and when required.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and experience working within the insurance industry is a big plus.
  • Knowledge of any ETL tool is an advantage.
  • SQL scripting experience is an advantage.
  • Strong MS Office skills.
  • Programming experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Acting as a trusted advisor to the customer - advise on, gather, and define data migration business requirements, based on a meticulous study of legacy data landscape, Sapiens’s product capabilities, and best practices, ensuring high business value.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders - customer IT/business functions, Sapiens’ product analysts and business analysts to drive migration solution design.
  • Collaborating with Sapiens’s development and implementation engineer teams to foresee and assess impact on migration solutions in a timely and structured manner.
  • Working closely with the migration management team to report and manage dependencies, issues, and risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Helping lead the customer to the optimal solution – to see the overall picture while maintaining a level of detail appropriate to the context.
  • Leveraging deep business and technology knowledge and experience, use this experience and intuition to identify requirements, assess capability gaps and propose possible solution approach.
  • Contributing to business development activities - supporting RFPs, estimations and solutioning during blueprint phase.
  • Responsible for detailed mapping design, and of running mapping sessions with the customer.
  • Producing and reviewing reports and dashboards for data quality checks and reconciliation.
