The Opportunity
Reporting to the Supervisor, South Maintenance, our Millwrights play a key role in ensuring all assets are maintained safely and efficiently, while supporting Wolf’s defining behaviors. The Millwright will be responsible for providing maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair to the assets that includes pumps, piping, valves, PSVs, compressors, vessels, fans, gearboxes, mechanical seals, and packings. This is a hands-on role that will be required to work with and supervise 3rd party contractors.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of our Sturgeon facility in Sturgeon County.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Align and test equipment and make any necessary adjustments
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and make necessary repairs
  • Input on inventory of replacement parts
  • Report all incidents, “near miss” incidents including damages/non-damage, injury/non-injury incidents
  • Review and participate in the preparation of safe work practices/procedures as required
  • Encourage and participate in continuous improvement activities to improve safety, performance and drive annual objectives
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with other maintenance and operations staff to prioritize equipment needs and repair

Qualifications and Experience

EDUCATION:

  • Journeyperson Interprovincial Red Seal Millwright, or Mechanical Technician/ Technologist or Professional Mechanical Engineer required

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in an industrial environment
  • Strong mechanical background with piping, pumps, compressors, exchangers, boilers, turbines and other process equipment.
  • High level of understanding of rotational equipment, pressure vessels, relief devices, and safe operation of pressure piping and equipment.
  • Knowledge and experience of industry related safe work practices
  • Knowledge of gas plant and pipeline operations and maintenance practices is a plus

SKILLS:

  • Strong mechanical and analytical skills to be able to trouble-shoot the repair and maintenance of equipment found within the oil and gas sector
  • Strong computer skills including experience in Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS)
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Must consistently strive for personal and operational improvement including the ability to upgrade required skills and competencies
  • Industry-related Safety training
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License and satisfactory driver’s abstract
  • This is a safety sensitive position and requires pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
