WHAT WE REQUIRE:

We respect the knowledge and experience you have gained to date and are willing to help you build on that. We do however require:

  • 15+ years of closure experience in natural resource sectors (preferably mining) or experience in mining in fields related to closure
  • You must be eligible to register as professional engineer in Canada
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, decision-making, and coaching skills
  • An ability to train and mentor young professionals
  • Passion for creating a positive legacy for mining, business development, strategic business planning, particularly in developing and growing a team
  • The ability to lead mine closure projects while also being the technical lead on the engineering, geoscience, or permitting aspects
  • Strong initiative, innovation, and commitment to technical excellence as well as enthusiasm and drive toward long-term success
  • Enhanced verbal and written communication skills
  • A focus on team spirit and interpersonal skills, which can be demonstrated through your ability to build long-term, successful relationships with clients and project teams
  • Experience in a safety focused environment with near miss and incident reporting requirements

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the Mine Closure Practice Lead as part of our Mining Environmental Group, based out of any of our offices, you with the opportunity to:

  • Serve in a leadership role
  • Guide, mentor and train more junior staff
  • Serve as subject matter expert / thought leader within your area of expertise
  • Be an active participant on the technical aspects of projects through a mix of:
  • Senior technical review
  • Lead a team on mine closure projects and technically lead some aspects of these projects
  • Leading technical reporting efforts, proposal generation, and client presentations
  • Overseeing and managing project scope, budget, and schedule through the project lifecycle
  • Generate new business by maintaining high visibility with regular client interaction, participation in industry events, and contributing to peer-reviewed publications

The salary for this position is $130,000 to $170,000 per year. Salary is based on applicable experience, education, and skill level.
