Description:

MINE ENGINEER- PRODUCTION

We are currently seeking a Mine Production Engineer to join our high performing team.
Reporting to the Senior Engineer - Mine Production, this position is focused on providing support to the operations teams to deliver against physical plans and strategic objectives by providing timely and workable short term mine production schedules and drill and blast planning.
This role is offered on an 8/6 residential roster in Rosebery or DIDO

COMPETENCIES, QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mine Engineering or equivalent with prior drill and blast experience
  • Experience in large scale open stoping underground mining operations.
  • Sound understanding of underground drill and blast, mine production and development methods, mine scheduling and ventilation.
  • Sound practical experience with mine planning software (Deswik preferred).
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to contribute and work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Design drill and blast plans for production stoping
  • Develop Fill plans
  • Stope reconciliations and reviews of blasting performance
  • Short Term Schedule Development and Delivery
  • Maintaining close working relationships with the Mine Operation Teams and Planning team.
  • Ensuring operational management are adequately briefed on technical matters to make appropriate decisions in a timely manner
  • Maintaining and optimising documentation to outline operational processes
  • Continually seeking to improve existing scheduling and operational performance.
  • Leading and participating in operational incident investigations and risk assessments
