We are seeking motivated and versatile individuals to join our team in Perth/Brisbane, working with keys customer at their remote mine site in Australia and/or Indonesia. This role’s roster will align to that of our customers and may adjust based on which project you are currently focused on. As part of our onboarding process, you will go through a robust training program where you will learn all aspects of system operation, troubleshooting and application of autonomy to a mining environment. Once you complete this training program, you will be well-positioned to support our customers in maintaining and optimising system performance.
This role provides the opportunity to work along-side the world’s leading mining companies. Autonomy is a sophisticated investment, and the customers that use it are equally cutting-edge. This position gives management exposure to entry-level positions as mining companies look to Caterpillar for expertise and guidance in industry best practices and procedures.

MineStar® Fleet and Command for Underground is utilized in two different continents and has support facilities all over the world. Training and operational experience is enriched by global site visits and international collaboration.

Responsibilities:

ONCE YOU COMPLETE YOUR TRAINING PROGRAM, YOUR JOB DUTIES MAY INCLUDE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Implementing MineStar® Fleet and Command for Underground to maximise system performance.
  • Through close collaboration internally and externally, you will become a trusted advisor for the customer.
  • Supporting and advising MineStar® Fleet and Command for Underground Office Supervisors, Builders and Controllers in all aspects of Minestar® system performance, including minimising downtime.
  • Providing technical support to MineStar® Fleet and Command for Underground System on-board maintenance Supervisors and Technicians.
  • Supporting hardware and software installation and configuration through establishing Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
  • Measuring, benchmarking and reporting on MineStar® Fleet and Command for Underground System performance and suggesting opportunities for improvements.
  • Developing training and process material.
  • Training program is tailored to the individual, which may include 2 x 4 weeks class room training and on the job training and mentoring over a 6 to 12 month period.
  • This role will be on roster, both onsite and remote depending on the project you are working on

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING ATTRIBUTES:

  • University degree in IT, Mining Engineering or related discipline
  • Sound understanding of computer and/or radio communication networks

The following will be highly regarded, but not essential:

  • Mining experience
  • Knowledge of mining technology products and product applications, including Fleet Management systems
  • The successful candidate must be able to meet the requirements for a working visa for Indonesia
