About the Role
We are seeking Expressions of Interest for the role of Mining Production Analyst for upcoming opportunities at South Flank.
Reporting to the Supervisor of Production Enablement, you will be responsible for analysing performance and determining how best to define, prioritise and implement improvements that safely deliver the most value to the business.
You will provide specialist data-driven advice to the Mining Leadership team, seek feedback from your customers and be able to communicate your work to a wide range of stakeholders. Your general responsibilities will include:
- Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations,
- Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development,
- Understand the significant HSE risks which are apparent within the mining environment and ensure controls are implemented to mitigate the risk,
- Take shared accountability for the performance of the mining fleet and ensure quality of tasks, services and advice provided to the operation,
- Support and encourage peers and other team members to build a safety orientated, high performance culture, with a strong focus on continuous improvement,
- Determine the underlying cause of problems and evaluate multiple solutions to ensure a structured approach to solving complex problems,
Identify, engage, and manage a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders, andKnow our customer and be obsessed with meeting their needs.
Your role specific responsibilities will include:
- Investigate, initiate & execute improvement initiatives for mining productivity and cost reduction,
- Prepare fleet capability inputs and assumptions for short to medium term mine plans, and monitor performance to verify compliance or initiate improvement, and
- Prepare regular performance analysis relating to compliance to mine plans and facilitate meetings with diverse range of stakeholders to drive action and improvement where required.
About You
The analyst is a key role for us on site and requires you to be a strategic and critical thinker with the ability to identify improvements from data analytics. The successful applicant will ideally have a combination of the below:
- Experience using Power BI and SQL,
- Exposure to a Mining Production environment / familiarity with open cut mining,
- Experience using Power Automate, Python, R or AWS,
- Experience using Fleet Software (FrontRunner, Modular, Minestar, Surface Manager, DAS etc),
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Excel analysis where appropriate,
- Ability to negotiate, influence and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders,
- Independent, proactive nature with drive to make improvements via self-managed project scoping & delivery,
- Strong professional communication skills, both written and verbal,
- Ability to demonstrate past examples of excellent analytical ability, and
- Strong planning, prioritizing and organization skills.
