Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position provides Mission Command System (MCS) operators and system administrators to the Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC) Operations Group (OPSGRP) located at Hohenfels, Germany. JMRC’s mission is to train Multinational Interoperability to US, NATO, and partner nation forces up to the Brigade level in an extended Live, Virtual, and Constructive Decisive Action Training Environment. JMRC supports the US Army Europe theater security cooperation plan through planning and participation in NATO and U.S. Army Europe exercise programs.
The Mission Command System (MCS) Operator/System Administrator is a MCS Subject Matter Expert (SME) and supporting member of the JMRC. MCS Operators/System Administrators work in support of JMRC rotations/exercises includes planning, configuration, testing, integration, maintenance, and execution support to configure and operate MCS including, but not limited to: Command Post of the Future (CPOF), Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE), Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), Forward Area Air Defense Command and Control (FAADC2), Air and Missile Defense Workstation (AMDWS), Tactical Air Integration System (TAIS), Air Defense Systems Integrator (ADSI), Blue Force Tracking (BFT), Global Command and Control System-Army (GCCS-A), Multilateral Interoperability Programme (MIP), and associated servers on the Battle Command Common Services (BCCS) or Tactical Services Infrastructure (TSI) Stacks.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
  • An associate’s degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
  • A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
  • 11 years of recent specialized experience

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience as a system administrator, or equivalent, on two or more of the Army Mission Command Systems.
  • Ideal candidate MOS: 131A, 13J, or 140A.
  • DoD 8570.01-M Tech Level II: CompTIA Sec+ (or equivalent) and have a Computing Environment certificate by day 1
  • At least 1 years’ experience administering Windows Server 2012R2 or newer and experience with VMWare vSphere.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work long hours on consecutive days/nights in support of exercise preparation, execution, helpdesk, evaluation and close-out.
  • Possess active SECRET clearance with requirement to initiate a Single Scope Background Investigation for a TS/SCI clearance.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U. S. Citizenship status with ability to obtain a SECRET to TOP SECRET security clearance. Security Clearance requirements will be specified in the Government’s Task Order

Responsibilities:

LIST OF PROPOSED DUTIES:

  • Administers and operates the U.S. Army’s suite of Army Battle Command Systems (ABCS)/Mission Command Systems (MCS) in a training environment. ABCS/MCS systems include, but not limited to:
  • Command Post of the Future (CPOF), Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE), Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), Forward Area Air Defense Command and Control (FAADC2), Air and Missile Defense Workstation (AMDWS), Tactical Air Integration System (TAIS), Air Defense Systems Integrator (ADSI), Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below (FBCB2) Blue Force Tracking (BFT) Joint Capabilities Release (JCR) and Joint Battle Command – Platform (JBC-P), Global Command and Control System-Army (GCCS-A), Multilateral Interoperability Programme (MIP), and associated servers on the Battle Command Common Services (BCCS) or Tactical Services Infrastructure (TSI) Stacks.
  • Configures ABCS/MCS components with appropriate software versions, verifies connectivity throughout the network and maintains all related hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
  • Updates MCS databases. Adjust MCS database parameters to accurately reflect current military operations within the training event.
  • Loads software, troubleshoots software/hardware problems, performs part replacement, performs set-up and tear-down of MCS hardware, and configures software/hardware for training requirements.
  • Conduct thread-testing of linked systems to verify proper operation of the MCS and associated network.
  • Demonstrates the system’s capabilities and operations.
