Description:
This is an excellent opportunity for a registered Pharmacy Technician who is keen to gain both experience and skills/knowledge in relation to medicines management, quality improvement, safety and governance.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic and growing team that strives to improve the safe and effective use of medicines across the organisation to deliver the best quality care to our patients.
As a Pharmacy Technician, your role is pivotal in ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines across the Trust. Collaborating with the Pharmacy Medicines Governance and Safety Team, you’ll support audit preparations, maintain quality management systems, and contribute to quality improvement projects.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to become a qualified medicines management technician providing clear professional development from a band 4 to a band 5. This will include providing technical assistance, advising on drug storage, managing stock, and participating in key meetings and safety reports. Your involvement in Medicines Management and discharge processes underscores your commitment to patient safety and the efficient functioning of the pharmacy department.
This multifaceted role combines technical expertise with governance responsibilities, making you a crucial asset in upholding pharmacy standards and patient care.
As a Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician in Safety and Governance, you will:
Support audit preparations to ensure compliance with Royal Pharmaceutical Society standards.
Collaborate with the Medicines Governance and Safety team to maintain a robust quality management system.
Advise on drug storage, manage stock, and oversee Patient Group Directions (PGDs).
Improve dispensing practices and address medication incidents, contributing to safety reports for key meetings.
Deputize in the absence of senior team members, preparing meeting papers and acting as secretariat.
ADDITIONALLY, YOU’LL BE INVOLVED IN:
Risk management, adhering to the Trust’s standards, and supporting incident and complaint investigations.
Upholding good pharmaceutical practice, ensuring regulatory compliance, and engaging in continuous professional development.
This role is essential for maintaining high pharmacy service standards, ensuring patient safety, and contributing to the Trust’s overall objectives.
