LodgeLink is inviting Mobile Native App engineers in Calgary to join our Mobile team to be part of the creation of the future of workforce travel. We are looking for talented individuals with a passion for coding, who enjoy learning about the latest technologies, strong critical thinking skills, and a user-focused approach.

You will be part of a cross-functional team that is responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. As a full-time member of our growing team, you will have the opportunity to extend our iOS and Android mobile app offerings using Swift and Kotlin in a lean and modern product development environment.
The Mobile Squad builds and supports both the iOS and Android apps. We excel at understanding LodgeLink’s unique business problems and translating stakeholder requirements into a top-class experience for our customers on our way to be THE ecosystem for workforce travel.
This role is in Calgary, AB, and is in-office with the flexibility to work from home 20% time.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of the full mobile app development lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with architecture patterns like MVVM, MVI, and Clean Architecture.
  • Strong understanding of the SDLC, the SOLID Principles, Data/Behavior/Test Drive Development, and a love of Clean Code.
  • Experience with collections, multithreading, and synchronization.
  • Experience in unit testing, including designing, writing, and executing tests using tools like JUnit & Mockito.
  • Knowledge of mobile’s UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of Android SDK and strong proficiency in Kotlin.
  • Experience with dependency injection frameworks like Koin, Hilt, and Dagger 2.
  • Experience with image loading and caching libraries, specifically Picasso.
  • Familiarity with Android’s ViewLifecycle components and best practices.
  • Experience with modern Android tools like Coroutine, Flow, and KTX extensions.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices.
  • Proficient with Git, gitflow, pull requests, and code review practices.
  • Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Android and iOS apps in a cloud environment backed by a GraphQL API.
  • Take ownership of new features and leverage the team in creating, building, and integrating quality, test-driven code to deliver apps that delight our customers.
  • Collaborate with the Full Stack Engineers, Architects, Product Owners, and your peers in finding the best solutions to our most challenging business and technical problems, using todays and future technologies.
