Description:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Technical training or certification or Diploma of Collegial Studies;
  • 5-8 years of related experience;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in supervisory roles;
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of the applicable legislation and regulations for Mines and Mining Plants;
  • Self-starter who is able to anticipate needs and work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, growing work environment;
  • The individual should have demonstrated a high level of energy, self motivation and strong organizational skills;
  • Excellent inter-personal skills together with an ability to facilitate commitment to a cooperative team effort;
  • Good communication skills, both orally and written with both internal and external contacts and the ability to work with all levels of the organization; and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required.
    Schedule: 5,4,4,5 rotating schedule

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, communicate and follow work for assigned mechanical team;
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and practices;
  • Provide guidance, coaching and mentorship to members of the crew;
  • Hold yourself and crew members accountable towards attainment of safety and performance targets;
  • Perform workplace inspections and plan corrective measures if required;
  • Report work planned and realized daily using the tools provided;
  • Perform monthly HS meetings with crews presenting the provided material;
  • Answer queries and handle requests related to maintenance mechanical;
  • Maximize equipment utilization and minimize downtime;
  • Prepare reports and complete documentation related to mechanical;
  • In collaboration with procurement, purchases equipment for current and future needs;
  • Provide assistance to the General Foreman and Superintendent in the hiring of mechanics;
  • Complete time entry, vacation requests and scheduling; and
  • Any other task as directed by direct supervisor.
