Description:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Technical training or certification or Diploma of Collegial Studies;
- 5-8 years of related experience;
- Minimum 3 years of experience in supervisory roles;
- Good understanding and working knowledge of the applicable legislation and regulations for Mines and Mining Plants;
- Self-starter who is able to anticipate needs and work independently with minimal supervision;
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, growing work environment;
- The individual should have demonstrated a high level of energy, self motivation and strong organizational skills;
- Excellent inter-personal skills together with an ability to facilitate commitment to a cooperative team effort;
- Good communication skills, both orally and written with both internal and external contacts and the ability to work with all levels of the organization; and
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required.
Schedule: 5,4,4,5 rotating schedule
Responsibilities:
- Plan, communicate and follow work for assigned mechanical team;
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and practices;
- Provide guidance, coaching and mentorship to members of the crew;
- Hold yourself and crew members accountable towards attainment of safety and performance targets;
- Perform workplace inspections and plan corrective measures if required;
- Report work planned and realized daily using the tools provided;
- Perform monthly HS meetings with crews presenting the provided material;
- Answer queries and handle requests related to maintenance mechanical;
- Maximize equipment utilization and minimize downtime;
- Prepare reports and complete documentation related to mechanical;
- In collaboration with procurement, purchases equipment for current and future needs;
- Provide assistance to the General Foreman and Superintendent in the hiring of mechanics;
- Complete time entry, vacation requests and scheduling; and
- Any other task as directed by direct supervisor.
