Responsibilities:
FIND PURPOSE AND IMPACT
This dynamic and challenging position is responsible for all matters pertaining to the maintenance and repair of Council’s diverse fleet of vehicles, plant, and equipment, encompassing both mechanical and electrical systems, in the Dubbo and Wellington workshop facilities as well as field service and breakdown responses. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our municipal operations run smoothly.
As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work both independently and collaboratively. We currently have multiple vacancies for positions based in Wellington and Dubbo Workshops, with the opportunity to work out on location at Council’s project based worksites.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Carrying out diagnosis and repairs of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
- Working autonomously across various locations
- Effectively communicating with different levels of the organisation
- Fostering good teamwork and high staff morale within the team, including supervision of apprentices
- Ensuring high quality standards of workmanship
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- Qualification and licence in Motor Mechanics, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or Plant Mechanics
- Class C Drivers Licence
- Demonstrated trade experience in repairs and diagnosis for a variety of equipment and the subsequent work required
- Basic computer skill
