Hours of work: Monday – Friday (8.00am-5.00pm with flexibility to work outside these hours)

Responsibilities:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Monitoring Technician to join our Waste Permitting and Compliance department at our head office in Huntingdon.
Reporting to the Head of Waste Permitting and Compliance, the role will comprise a mix of site based and office-based activities and will involve travel between the company’s sites located in East Anglia and the East Midlands.
The Monitoring Technician will carry out environmental monitoring at our development sites, operational facilities and earthworks project sites including groundwater, surface water, leachate, gas, dust, and air monitoring.
In addition to the site-based activities the role will also include managing the monitoring data base and results, tracking, and validating laboratory analysis, maintaining the company equipment and calibration register and assisting with environmental reporting of the monitoring data.
Duties include:
- Undertake environmental monitoring (including but not limited to groundwater, surface water, leachate, gas, Rapid Measurement Techniques (RMT), dust, noise and air monitoring) at operational facilities, development sites and third-party sites as and when required.
- Manage, monitor and interpret all related monitoring databases and results obtained from testing undertaken and submitted for analysis.
- To be responsible for the upkeep, calibration and use of all tools and equipment used in monitoring activities.
- Carry out monitoring on groundwater, surface water, leachate, gas, dust and air monitoring.
- Assist with related environmental reporting including monitoring data and quarterly waste returns.
- Undertake aggregates and soil sampling from static sites, carry out washing and grading of samples plus RMT.
