Description:

Robert Half is seeking a dedicated Underwriter to support one of our non-profit client’s on a 6-month project.
The Underwriter will play a crucial role in assessing and managing risks associated with non-profit activities, ensuring the sustainability and growth of programs.
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute your expertise in financial analysis and risk management to support our mission.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Proven experience in underwriting, financial analysis, or risk management, preferably within the non-profit sector.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to collaboration and consensus-building.
Knowledge of non-profit financial reporting standards and regulations (e.g., IRS regulations, GAAP) is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate funding proposals and grant applications to assess financial viability and risk.
Conduct financial analysis, including review of budgets, financial statements, and funding requests.
Collaborate with program managers and development teams to understand project goals and financial needs.
Assess and manage risks associated with funding opportunities and organizational investments.
Prepare underwriting reports and recommendations for senior management and board review.
Monitor and evaluate funded projects to ensure compliance with financial terms and conditions.
Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including donors, partners, and funding agencies.
Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to non-profit underwriting and risk management.
