Description:

The Clinical Education Team at UCLH is a major provider of courses, programmes and events and has one of the best resourced Education Centres in the NHS, comprising a suite of well-appointed conference rooms and a leading-edge learning hospital suite ( http://www.ucheducationcentre.org/ ). We cater for both UCLH staff and external clients and deliver courses to all healthcare professionals utilising multi-modalities as an educational tool, with a particular focus on team training, multi-disciplinary working, and inter-professional education.
The uclh Clinical Education Team requires a focused, committed, enthusiastic individual with good management and leadership skills and specific knowledge and experience of Moving and Handling and education in healthcare.
The post holder will support the uclh Head of Clinical Education to deliver the UCLH Education Strategy through collaboration with key stakeholders internal and external to the Trust; working in partnership to further develop stakeholder engagement and involvement in moving and handling ergonomics education and training to support a culture of learning and openness across professional groups.
The uclh Moving and Handling Ergonomics Lead works as part of a multi-professional team that will develop, implement and evaluate the moving and handling ergonomics service to enhance patient safety and quality in health care delivery across specialities and professional groups. The Moving and Handling Ergonomics Lead will act as a lead specialist within the Trust’s Moving and Handling Ergonomics (MHE) Service with responsibility for the operational management and strategic planning under the direction of the Head of Clinical Education. They will report to the uclh Simulation and Clinical Skills Centre Manager and lead the operation of the service, including input to the budget, equipment, and supplies procurement, in addition to oversight of service resources.
A key element of the role is to deliver a high-quality service within the UCH Education Centre and in-situ off and across the Trusts estate. There is a strong focus on quality assurance and working in collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
The successful candidate must be an outstanding communicator, with the ability to work well autonomously and lead a team and service. You must demonstrate first-rate organisational and multi-tasking skills, prioritising effectively and efficiently in a busy and fast paced work environment.
