Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
Educated to degree level education or NVQ level 4 or equivalent experience.
Nationally recognised teaching qualification or willing to work towards eg. PTLLS/L3 Adult award in education or willing to work towards.
Safer Patient Handling qualification ROSPA/EDGE/Worksafe in line with the NBE Standards.
Evidence of continuous professional development.
Desirable criteria
ILM Level 2 Award in Leadership and Team Skills.
NBE member.
Experience
Essential criteria
Extensive experience as a Moving and Handling Practitioner or link trainer within the NHS.
Experience of supporting/coordinating people and teams.
Experience of current based moving and handling techniques.
Experience of teaching or training a variety of individuals/staff groups.
Desirable criteria
Experience in the management of change in healthcare.
Experience in the development and delivery of training courses.
Experience of collating and analysing data in accordance to moving and handling.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
Have a understanding and knowledge of the legal and ethical issues related to moving and handling assessment.
Have an understanding and knowledge of moving and handling best practice.
Knowledge of understanding of risk, including personal safety to staff and patients.
Skills
Essential criteria
Able to problem solve and support in the provision of completing risk assessments relating to clinical practice.
Able to work autonomously and as an active team member within a small team.
Flexible and adaptable to changing situations demonstrating initiative and time management skills.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills and able to facilitate better understanding of moving and handling issues for all levels of staff.
IT competencies to maximise efficiency and effectiveness of relevant data systems, software and learning technologies.
